Online tutorials
The online, real-time tutorials are primarily designed for external students but internal students are also welcome to participate.
The new online tutorial schedule will be posted on this site prior to the commencement of semester 2, 2008 (which commences on Monday 21 July).
The first time you log-in you will have to run the Setup Wizard to make sure that your computer will let you access the virtual classroom, so allow an extra 5 minutes to do that.
On subsequent log-ins, you just need to click on 'click here' ("If you have completed the wizard previously") to enter the tutorial room.
Some rules for communicating in the online tutorials:
- Only one person can speak at a time
- Iif you want to say something, before you press and hold the Talk button, you should raise your hand by clicking on the hand symbol in the lower right hand area of the screen, just above the list of names. The tutor will see that you want to say something and ask you to speak
- Also, if the tutor or one of the other students is speaking, the '+' sign to the right of their name (in the list of participants near the lower right hand corner) will have an orange background for as long as they are holding their Talk button, so please wait for the orange background to disappear before pressing and holding your own Talk button
- Press and hold the Talk button OR hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard to speak and release when you you've finished speaking.
