Academic Support Program

Charles Darwin University academic staff

The Academic Language & Learning Support Program (ALLSP) adviser welcomes opportunities to work collaboratively with CDU academic staff within the context of specific courses and units. For example, the ALLSP adviser can work with academic staff to develop strategies for providing academic literacy tutorials for groups of students during the period prior to assignment submission dates or exams, or at other times considered appropriate by academic staff.

Focused support can also be provided to individual students if academic staff identify students who may be having academic literacy problems that could put them at risk of failure or avoidable discontinuation of enrolment.

The main theme of the program is the development of independent academic literacy skills, so students who receive support from the program are expected to play an active role in their own learning.
