Trish Olsson
Diploma of Library and Information Services
Trish Olsson was named vocational student of the year runner-up at the Australian Training Awards in Perth last week. Trish won the award for her hard work and commitment after graduating with a Diploma of Library and Information Services. Earlier this year Trish received a CDU student prize in recognition for being the most outstanding student in the Diploma and was nominated by her lecturer Kaye Bartlett (pictured with Trish at the Australian Training Awards) for the NT Training Awards. Trish, part-time client services officer at the Palmerston Campus library, went on to win the NT vocational student of the year in September before going on to Perth to represent the Northern Territory at the Australian Training Awards. Trish now plans to study for a Bachelor of Library and Information Management and become a fully-qualified librarian.
The event held at the Perth Convention Centre was attended by over 800 guests and included The Hon Dr Brendan Nelson MP, Minister for Education, Science and Training and The Hon Syd Stirling MLA, Minister for Employment, Education and Training, supporting the student finalists from the Northern Territory
