Vocational Education and Training
Charles Darwin University is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and is the largest provider of Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses in the Northern Territory.
The Academic Quality, Planning and VET group work to ensure that the university is a quality VET provider for the NT.
Part of the group's role is to:
- Ensure that the university is providing the most appropriate and up to date VET courses and training packages
- Act as an intermediary between the university's faculties and the Department of Employment, Education and Training
- Monitor the university's VET stakeholders to ensure that courses and trainings are relevant and are achieving satisfaction
- To ensure the university, as an RTO, is meeting the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) standards.
NT DEET Training Awards
The awards, hosted by the Department of Employment, Education and Training (DEET), honours and celebrates outstanding achievements in the vocational education and training (VET) sector in both student and organisational categories.
The 2007 NT DEET Training Awards were held on the 8th September with CDU winning the Training Provider of the Year Award for its outstanding achievements in all aspects of the delivery of vocational education and training. It is the second year in succession that CDU has won the major award.
