Group Training NT commenced trading as a not-for-profit company in 1989. Our main aim was to increase the numbers of Apprentices in training in the Top End and to improve the quality of training provided.
Group Training NT has grown to be the largest employer of Apprentices and Trainees in the Northern Territory. Our current numbers of trainees and apprentices employed by our Group Training arm is around 600. This number represents approximately 21 % market share throughout the Northern Territory.
The company also has a range of tailored training support arrangements in place with major Northern Territory employers in the private and public sectors. The company has extended its role to incorporate new business arms including the Australian Apprenticeships NT Services and a Registered Training Organisation with specific strategies aimed at increasing the number of Indigenous Young Territorians in Apprenticeships and implementing Australian School Based Apprenticeships.
