Time difference

Darwin is Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) + 9.5 hours.

Currency

Australian national currency is decimal.
Notes are in $100, $50, $20, $10 and $5 denominations.
Coins are in 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, $1 and $2 denominations.

Electricity

The electrical supply is 240 volts, 50 hz. Connections for appliances is a  flat three-pin plug. Most city hotels provide 110 volts for shavers.

Car parking

For those registrants who wish to drive in Darwin and park their car  during the day, parking is available at the University. View the Casuarina campus map here.

Bus and taxi travel

Buses travel from the city to Casuarina Shopping Centre, via Charles Darwin University on a regular basis. Route four provides a direct route from the city to Charles Darwin University.

Taxis are available but will need to be booked for travel to-and-from the University, phone 131 008.
