Terms & Conditions - Text book orders at the CDU Bookshop

Text Book Lists/Reading Lists for Semester 1, 2009 are due 31 October 2009

Attention: CDU Lecturers & Theme Leaders & School Administrators

Complete your texts list at Text Book Advice Form. You are welcome to drop in, phone or email us for information on current editions, title availability, price and delivery dates. To confirm we have received and actioned your text advice please check the unit code through Online Ordering. Please note listing set text on Learnline does not constitute advice to the Bookshop of prescribed or recommended textbooks. Please copy this information and forward it to us in plenty of time for us to have to book on the shelf at the start of each semester. Lecturers please submit a text advice for each unit, each semester to ensure your text book is available to students. Unadopted textbooks will be returned to suppliers at the end of each semester.

Late text orders incur freight & small-order surcharges which the bookshop must pass on to students resulting in unnecessary prices increases.
On-line textbook information and ordering is available to students as soon as text advices are supplied by lecturers.
2nd hand buyback list will be posted in November 2008 - if you do not provide a textlist by the due date we cannot list your text as a possible buyback thus disadvantaging students.

Refund Policy

Refund of money will only be provided where books or other items purchased are:

Defective or faulty, or
Fail to match the description

Credit Note Policy

Credit Notes will be considered under the following circumstances:

Withdrawal from a course of study
Incorrect book purchased for a course
Exemption granted from a course

And where:

The sales receipt is provided for proof of purchase
Return goods are in mint condition

Credit notes for textbooks will not be considered:

After 1 April for the first semester
After 1 September for the second semester

Credit Notes for general books will only be considered in exceptional circumstances.

Text Book Information Policy

Information on titles, prices and editions for textbooks prescribed or recommended for Charles Darwin University units may change without notice.
Textbook data is updated as information comes to hand from the Schools. Some units may not have set textbooks so no data will be provided.
Please consult your lecturer if you are unsure about the need for purchasing a textbook.

All domestic freight is by Australia Post Express Post Bag or Parcel Post

Orders under 500grams - Express Post Bag: $8.00
Orders 500 grams to 3kg - Express Post Bag: $11.00
Orders 3kg to 5kg - Express Post Bag: $20.00
Orders 5kg to 8kg - Express Post Bags: $30.00
Orders 8kg to 10kg - Express Post Bags: $40.00
Orders over 10kg Parcel Post: $45.00

International freight can be sent via Australia Post or TNT international courier. Please advise preferred service when ordering. Please note that all charges are in Australian dollars.

Insurance - Australian Domestic Freight

$3.00 insurance for lost parcels - please request this service when ordering

CDU Bookshop will replace lost parcels if not delivered after 15 working days from date of despatch. If no replacement stock available CDU Bookshop will refund purchase price of lost books.
