Research at Charles Darwin University

Charles Darwin University is the largest research and development performer in the Northern Territory and, through rapid growth in the past few years, is now responsible for almost 25 per cent of all research and development performed in the Territory. Our research is focused on the peoples, societies, cultures, economies, institutions, infrastructure and environments of tropical Australia, South-East Asia and the Australian desert.

The university aims to have a lasting impact on the policies and actions of governments, non-government organisations, businesses and individuals, while contributing to knowledge both in the region and globally. The region's diverse Indigenous populations provide us with a special research focus.

Our research services cover a wide range of subjects from social, cultural and environmental issues to technological problems affecting the development of the Northern Territory.

If you are from a business or government body and you have a research project you would like to discuss, contact Dr Jenny Carter on 08 8946 6708 or email jenny.carter@cdu.edu.au.
