About the Jabiru area

The unique township of Jabiru is situated in the middle of Kakadu - a National Park of world heritage status - and perched on the edge of Arnhem Land.

Jabiru hosts a range of services for residents and tourists alike and is the gateway to many of the amazing sights in Kakadu National Park.

Jabiru has about 1100 people, with about 400 people in the rest of Kakadu. Jabiru's population is approximately 20 percent Indigenous, while the Kakadu population is about 50 percent Indigenous.
