Nhulunbuy campus
Charles Darwin University offers vocational education and training (VET) courses to Certificate IV level at Nhulunbuy.
Subject areas include Business and Office Administration, Information Technology, Children’s Services, Engineering, Numeracy and Literacy, and Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) which offers Certificates in Spoken and Written English.
The Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme (ITAS) is also offered at the Campus by the Indigenous Academic Support Unit of CDU.
Visiting lecturers regularly offer courses, including Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and various other Short Courses. Training is also delivered in remote regions and communities including the Yirrkala Training Centre.
Classes are delivered from the Nhulunbuy Training Centre, Chesterfield Circuit, Nhulunbuy.
The Training Centre, owned and managed by the Department of Education and Training (DET), has Computer Laboratories, a Conference Room, a Workshop equipped for Metal Fabrication and Automotive Studies, a Student Lounge and an Open Learning Centre (OLC). The OLC is equipped with computers and internet access for enrolled students. Bookings for Training Rooms and/or students wishing to use the OLC should telephone DET on 8987 0488.

Permits
Permits are required to travel on East Arnhem roads and these should be obtained from the Northern Land Council, (08) 8986 8500 or the Dhimurru Aboriginal Corporation, (08) 8987 3992.
