- Get your resume ready. Make sure it is up-to-date and geared towards the type of apprenticeship you wish to get. Put together a folder about yourself including your skills, work experience and any studies you have completed.

- Contact your local Job Network outlet to find out if they know of employers looking for new apprentices in the area of your choice. Tel: 13 62 68
- Register with private employment agencies or labour hire companies - they are listed in the Yellow Pages under 'Employment Services'.
- Market yourself:
- Tell people that you know that you're looking for an apprenticeship.
- Put together a list of potential employers (use the Yellow Pages), find out the name and title of the person responsible for recruitment and write them a letter explaining who you are, what you're looking for and what you can offer them - include your resume with details of your work experience and any training/studies that you have completed.
- Remember - applying for a New Apprenticeship is the same as applying for a job - make sure you include a covering letter and a resume with your application.
