Sarah Blaffer Hrdy (Hrdy is Czech for proud) is professor emeritus at the University of California-Davis, and a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Science.

Professor Hrdy trained as an anthropologist, primatologist and sociobiologist.

She is dedicated to communicating her research findings and scientific knowledge to a braod audience through her popular books, which include: The Woman that Never Evolved, Mother Nature: A History of Mothers, Infants and Natural Selection, and Mothers and Others: The Origin of Emotionally Modern Humans.
