Chainsaw operation

This course is suitable for people who would like to learn how to safely use and maintain a chainsaw. It covers the following:

  • operational maintenance of chainshaw engines;
  • chain selection and sharpening;
  • cutting techniques for felled timber.

Please note: This is not a tree felling course

Length of course

This program is delivered over a period of 2-3 days depending on class size at a CDU campus or other location by arrangement.

Units

This training comprises one nationally accredited unit of competency:

AHCARB205A - Operate and maintain chainsaws

Additional units of competency may be included in the training through arrangement with the delivery team. This will require additional training time and fees.

Fees

The cost of the course is $116.00 for subsidied places.

Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisities study or employment requirements.

Personal Protective Equipment

Please note: Students must provide their own steel capped boots and close fitting long clothing.
