International students

International students are any students who are not domestic students. New Zealand passport holders who have not lived in Australia for six months before the start of study will be required to pay international fees.

New and re-enrolling international students are required to enrol in the standard full-time load for the relevant course being undertaken. International students are required to enrol in a minimum of 360 hours per semester (two teaching periods). You may enrol in less than the full-time load only if it is your last teaching period/s for the course, and the number of units required to complete your course does not constitute a full-time load. Other temporary or provisional visa holders may study less than a full-time load.

Internet access

CDU has implemented a new internet access policy that will affect the way you access the internet from the computer labs, and from other computers around the university. This new policy does not limit where you may browse or what you download. It only affects the amount you download. Here’s how it works: When you use your web-browser to access the internet, it will ask you to log-on. Do this using your usual student username and password. After that, you can web browse as normal, except that the amount of web traffic you create will be monitored and applied against your internet access quota. For information visit www.cdu.edu.au/itms/InternetQuota.html.

Go to top of page

Internet free quota

Internet usage by undergraduate and VET students will be rationed through a free quota. The quota will be set at 1.5 Giga Bytes (1.5GB) a year with an eight-hour daily limit. Students wishing to exceed this quota may advance purchase extra capacity in $10 blocks. Students will not be disconnected if they exceed either of the above two limits during a logged-in session, but will overdraw their account and will have to make arrangements to get back into credit before another internet session can be opened. Regularly check your quota level to avoid running out at www.cdu.edu.au/itms/InternetQuota.html.
