Venue hire
Charles Darwin University has a number of facilities on its three main campuses, Casuarina, Palmerston and Alice Springs. While these are mainly used for university-based functions, at times they are available for public hire.
Casuarina
A wide range of venues is available at our Casuarina campus. From the University's main auditorium, computer labs and classrooms, to the Chinese Garden, we should have a venue to suit your need.

Palmerston
Whether you are looking for a place to celebrate your birthday or want to organise a business conference, the Palmerston campus has the perfect facilities. The campus is set amongst natural bushland on about 30 hectares of land and offers a peaceful and enjoyable environment for any kind of event.
Lecture theatre - 73 seat and air-conditioned with video, data projection, TV, audio and internet connection, and over-head camera (OHP) facilities.
Classrooms - catering for up to 120 people, which can be divided into three separate rooms with TV, video and OHP facilities.
Lakeside Café - the cafe can cater for functions of up to 120 people. A full catering service is available from an on-site caterer.
Meeting room (Building A) - catering for up to 15 people, our meeting room is suitable for small meetings and workshops, and has telephone-conference facilities.
Lakeside foyer area - located within Building C, the foyer is open plan style over looking the lake, catering for up to 150 people, with easy access to the car parking area.
Karawa Training Restaurant - the restaurant can cater for up to 80 people, a la carte style, and up to 120 people, buffet style. Karawa is not open for private functions outside teaching semesters - the venue may be available for group bookings depending on other bookings.

Alice Springs
Theatre - The air-conditioned theatre comes complete with databeam, TV, VCR and recording facilities and seats up to 75 people.
Electronic Resource Centre - Provides a computer lab for up to 15 people.
Seminar room - Includes a kitchenette and telephone/video conference facilities, our seminar room can cater for up to 25 people.
Desert Lantern Restaurant - The restaurant is open to the public for evening meals at various times throughout the year, and is available for conference functions at other times. Phone 08 8959 5200 for further information.
Grevillea Campus Coffee Shop - The coffee shop is available for catering. Phone 08 8959 5237 for further information.
General purpose rooms - There are a number of rooms available with seating for up to 20 people.
The hire of all facilities at the Alice Springs campus are subject to priority use by the University. To find out about availability and hire charges of facilities on the campus contact the Alice Springs Facilities Officer on 08 8959 5408.
