The third session of the CDU Model United Nations (MUN) has been announced. The event will be held on Saturday 27th March 2010 (Saturday of week four, semester one). It will be held in room Red 1.3.03 (conference room on the 3rd floor above the cafe/bar) at Casuarina Campus from 9am - 4pm.
Students are strongly encouraged to get involved in this worthwhile event. It is a free event and lunch will be provided for all delegates. The last 2 CDU MUNs have been highly successful and it's always a day full of fun and a great chance to meet other students and make friends. Below is a brief description of what it is all about.
Model United Nations (MUN) offers students the chance to step into the shoes of UN ambassadors and get first hand experience of International relations at its peak. Delegates take on the role of a UN diplomat representing a member nation of the UN, and engage in an exciting day of negotiation, debate and discussion. With the aim of finding suitable solutions to the world’s most pressing issues.
Students who attended the inaugural session last semester commented that it was a “great way to meet new people, have some fun and learn a bit about other countries and what is happening in the world”.
As a project of the CDU Talloires Student Group, CDU MUN is run entirely by and for students. It aims to provide an opportunity for students for develop their skills in diplomacy, teamwork and leadership in a stimulating and fun-filled atmosphere.
