Style Guide for Web Authors

Overview

Background

To maintain a coherent corporate online presence all pages within the Charles Darwin University website should:

Purpose of the guide

Because many people maintain the content for the CDU website across all areas of the University the CDU Web Authoring Guide has been developed to provide guidance to web authors when developing and maintaining corporate web pages to sustain a consistent look and feel.

The guide assumes that authors have had some experience in developing and maintaining web pages as well as using the templates.

Purchasing software

Note: Permission to maintain a site must be sought, in first instance, by your supervisor.

All editing by web authors should be done using Adobe Contribute. Purchasing Adobe Contribute is organised through the Senior Purchasing Officer, Finance and Asset Services.

Directory access

CDU web authors are required to contact the Corporate Communications web team for access to websites. The web team can then assist with directory access through ITMS, and once access is provided, direction in the use of the software.
