The School offers a vibrant and innovative music program with a strong community interface. The Bachelor of Creative Arts and Humanities (Music) provides students with the opportunity to focus on classical or contemporary music. Students can specialise in a wide variety of instruments, including voice, guitar, cello, trombone, flute, violin and piano.
The close partnership with the Darwin Symphony Orchestra provides performance opportunities for students, both at indoor and outdoor concerts throughout the year.
The School’s Centre for Youth Music offers pre-tertiary music programs that provide ensemble training and tuition for children between the ages of three to 18 years. Students have the opportunity to teach for the CYM during their studies and as graduates.
For those who are considering a career as a contemporary musician or recording technician, the School offers two Vocational and Education Training (VET) courses providing extensive training in music technology and industry related performance skills, working with industry standard equipment.
