Course
Description
The Certificate I and II courses in Business aim to develop
the student's practical competence and understanding of basic office skills
that is necessary for employment as office assistants and receptionists. They
also aims to re-equip mature age students with the skills necessary to re-enter
the workforce.
The Certificate III in Business Administration aims to develop student's knowledge,
understanding and application of clerical, administrative or secretarial practices
necessary for employment as support staff to middle managers in the public
and private sectors.
The Certificate IV in Business Administration continues to develop the participant's knowledge, understanding and application of clerical, administrative and secretarial practices necessary for employment as personal assistants to chief executive officers in the public and private sectors.
The Diploma in Business Administration completes the development of the participant's knowledge, understanding and application of clerical, administrative and secretarial practices necessary for employment as a personal/executive officers in the public and private sectors. On successful completion of the Diploma in Business (Administration) students may enrol in Degree level programs. Credit will be granted for competencies at the VET sector .
At the Certificate III level students may choose to enter into one of a number of the specialised Business streams. Certificate III in Record Keeping, which is currently offered at the Charles Darwin University, aims to equip students with the foundation knowledge and skills required to work in the specialised records management areas.
