The Virtual Enterprise has as its business partner Crocodylus Park - a research and education institution dedicated to the research, education and marketing of crocodile information and products. Crocodylus Park is located at Berrimah near Darwin in the Northern Territory. As a business partner Crocodylus Park provides a model business environment.

How does a Virtual Enterprise operate?

A group of students (staff) work in the practice firm in a full-time; part-time or a customised course/competency.

Although no actual transfer of goods or money occurs, all other business transactions take place - orders are sent, invoices issued, financial records maintained, employees paid.

Crocodylus World Virtual Enterprise is a framework for business skills training regardless of the type of occupation or industry. It is an ideal environment for training in small business retail; private industry and public sector departments, tourism and hospitality, private industry and public sector administration.

"Staff" (students) are inducted and allocated to Sales & Marketing; Reception and Administration; Accounting, Production or Human Resources,

The range of products and services are identified by consultation with our business partner and a catalogue with prices produced. Promotions to sell the product and services are designed and a trading bank account has been established at the central office.

Trading occurs with other practice firms nationally and internationally. Our sponsor Crocodylus Park, offers free entry to the Park to "staff", and sets projects for students to be involved in. Management representatives visit the Practice Firm to discuss business issues with "staff".

Learning is integrated. Students complete a number of competencies at any one time, according to their responsibilities and competencies successfully completed.
