The Centre for School Leadership coordinates and conducts research and pilot projects to create an evidence-base for educational leadership and professional learning policy and practices.

The research focus of the Centre is informing practical, on-the-ground work to offer professional learning content and design in response to the workforce capacity demands in the Northern Territory.

To these ends, the Centre has expertise undertaking externally-funded research projects to investigate the implications of national and local policies for teachers and school leaders such as those arising from the implementation of the National Professional Standards for Teachers and National Professional Standard for Principals.

It is through research work such as this, and with a particular focus on school leadership in remote locations, that the Centre contributes to the continuing development of local, national and internationally competitive education and training services in the Northern Territory.
