The Centre for Youth Music conducts a comprehensive program of music theory education, which gives students a formal introduction to musical concepts and practices.
This program is suitable and recommended for children who are 10 years or older and/or undertaking practical exams at Grade 3 or higher.
Classes which lead to exams for preliminary Grades 1, 2 and 3 Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) Musicianship and/or Music Craft are held on Saturday morning as part of the Ensemble Program. Classes for higher grades can be made available by negotiation. Class size is restricted so that individual attention can be given to each student.
This program commences in Term 3 of each year to the following May when the exams are held.
