Medium Rigid Truck and bus licence (Remote)
This course is delivered on communities and is modified to suit all levels of literacy including English as second language.
Cost: Fee for service (the course does not include cost of upgrade of licence fee for MVR)
Definition of Medium Rigid
Any two axle rigid vehicle (truck or bus) and trailer with GVM of less than 9 tonnes. This includes vehicles designed and constructed to carry passengers. MR does not allow the driver to carry passengers for hire or reward (for payment), unless they have an 'H' endorsement.
Requirements for MR licence
To be eligible for a Medium Rigid licence, the participant must:
- Have held a 'C' Car class or Light Rigid licences for at least 12 months
- Pass a Heavy Vehicle theory test including weights and measure
- Pass a practical test for that vehicle as per Motor Vehicle Registry specifications
- Provide proof of residency (e.g. a current drivers licence)
- Provide secondary proof, including name and address (e.g. bills, letter from council, etc.)
