1 A Sustainable Future for Limilngan-Wulna People
Spend the afternoon with the Kenyon family at Fogg Dam and Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre, 60 km east of Darwin. The family will tell you about the ‘dreaming tracks’ that cross their country and the cultural significance of Ludawei, where the visitor centre is built. Hear about the Limilngan-Wulna Association’s efforts to create a sustainable future for their people at the visitor centre and neighbouring Djukbinj National Park. Afternoon tea will be provided along with some women’s cultural activities.

1.45-6.15pm (market or city drop off) - max. 45 (coach)

2 Get Your Greensleeves On
Visit Greening Australia’s first permanent nursery in the Northern Territory. The nursery is located on eight hectares and specialises in Top End native plants. These plants are grown from locally-collected seeds. Our aim is to raise awareness and educate the wider Darwin community about native flora and its place within the built environment. We look forward to sharing our plot with you.

3.00-5.00pm (market or city drop off) - max. 20 (small bus)

3 Larrakia Darwin
Explore places in Darwin to see how the Indigenous people of this area, the Larrakia, work for cultural and environmental sustainability. There is an interesting past and a lively present in many sites in this tropical city. You will see a number of sites including the fish trap at Nightcliff and the shell middens at Charles Darwin Park with a Larrakia guide.

3.00-5.00pm (market or city drop off) - max. 20 (small bus)

4 Become a Junior Ranger for a Day
Become a Junior Ranger for the day. Put on your 9-11 year old ‘hat’ and join Ranger Dean and Ranger Dave in this activity for the 2008 AAEE Conference Junior Ranger Program. Learn a bit about the NT’s iconic crocs, test your harpooning skills, get up close and personal and hopefully develop a taste for them!

2.45-5.15pm (market or city drop off) - max. 20 (small bus)

4 The Tip is Green
Darwin City Council's Shoal Bay Waste Disposal site accepts in excess of 120,000 tonnes of waste and 142,000 cubic metres of green waste every year. With its tropical environment this leads to the challenge of managing the ever increasing landfill gas emissions. Visit this award winning waste facility and find out about the first Renewable Energy Facility in a tropical city.

3.00-5.00pm (market or city drop off) - max. 20 (small bus)

Remember to bring your water bottle and hat to all activities.
