Millennium kids

ATTENTION: Carbon-Free Conference of the Future, 9-12 July 2008; National Youth Environment Conference held in locations around Australia, July 2008

Millennium Kids will be coordinating the first Carbon-Free Youth Conference in Australia in partnership with the Australian Association for Environmental Education conference in Darwin. Instead of 100 young people flying to Darwin for the conference, there will be activities in locations across Australia for young people to participate in and then connect in with state youth representatives in Darwin via video link.

This Youth conference is an exciting opportunity to meet committed young people from around Australia and share our environmental stories, develop skills and knowledge about sustainability and most importantly develop a unified voice for children and youth in the community on the environmental priorities in 2008.

Young people in each of the states will take part in a day of environmental activities then document their learning by developing videos, podcasts and reports that will be put online for participants across Australia to share and feed into the AAEE conference.

Two youth representatives will fly to Darwin from each state to act as the voice of young people across Australia and present at the AAEE on the youth activities happening around Australia. They will also report back to youth delegates about what is happening at the AAEE conference.

The Millennium Kids Event is fully supervised and mentored by Millennium Kids Staff. Millennium Kids is a not-for-profit environmental youth organisation, run by kids, for kids, providing a consultation process allowing young people to have a voice regarding their community.
