Traineeships

Traineeships in children's services are entry level programs providing training and employment opportunities. They lead to a nationally recognised qualification and are based on the National Community Services Competency Standards. Training consists of both on and off the job training components.

Traineeship agreements

Traineeships involve a contract of training between the employer, the trainee and the Northern Territory Employment and Training Authority.

Trainees make a commitment to work for the employer and to complete activities and assessment in return for wages, training and workplace experience.

Employers make a commitment to pay the trainee appropriately, provide quality on the job training in a safe working environment and to release the trainee to attend the off the job training components.
