Courses available
Double Degrees
Currently
The Double Degree courses enable you to obtain both a first degree and a teaching qualification in four years. The courses prepare students to be teachers in middle and/or senior secondary schools. The discipline-based component of the Double Degree provides both the content knowledge required to teach in secondary schools and the knowledge required to pursue a career within the discipline. The education component of the Double Degree emphasises improving the teaching-learning relationship in the classroom, raising awareness of issues surrounding Indigenous education and developing an informed, evidence-based approach to learning and teaching.
Graduate Diploma of Teaching and Learning (GDTL)
The GDTL values and builds on your knowledge from your first degree, and enables you to teach in your areas of special expertise in middle and secondary schools. It is a fast-paced, intensive course with 80 days of practical, classroom experience. The course emphasises improving the teaching-learning relationship in the classroom, raising awareness of issues surrounding Indigenous education and developing an informed, evidence-based approach to learning and teaching.
For more information
As part of these courses students are required to complete professional experience periods in schools. These are made up of single day visits and block teaching components and need to be completed sequentially.
