New EHS Executive Officer appointed

Dr Kevin Williams has joined the Faculty of Education, Health and Science as Executive Officer.

Dr Williams has extensive experience in project management, infrastructure development and strategic planning, and has studied and worked on university campuses in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Prior to coming to Charles Darwin University, Dr Williams worked for 10 years at the South Australian Research and Development Institute in Adelaide, where he developed and led Plant Biotechnology and Biofuels research groups.

In 2008, he relocated to the Northern Territory to take the role as Program Manager, and then Executive Officer, with the Northern Territory Natural Resources Management Board.

"Whilst I am still very interested in scientific research, I get real satisfaction from staff leadership and organisational improvement, so moving to executive officer roles has been a natural progression for me," Dr Williams said.

"It's an exciting time of growth and change at CDU and I'm looking forward to being a part of that," he said.
