In the Faculty of Engineering, Health, Science and Environment, the Associate Dean of Research and Postgraduates Studies (R&PGS) and Administrative Officer provide support to students undertaking research and postgraduate studies. In addition, each school has a research champion who works with their head of school, and the Associate Dean, to provide information and mentoring to staff and students engaged in research. The Associate Dean and the research champions together form the Faculty Research Leadership Team and we are happy to help staff and students engaged in research, whether this is through mentoring, clarifying University processes, or providing a voice for researchers.
The role of the Associate Dean R&PGS and the Administrative Officer R&PGS is to:
Work closely with the Research Office to seek and disseminate research information
Provide financial and infrastructure support and mediation for postgraduate students
Coordinate the seminar series
Manage the undergraduate training research opportunity program (UTROP)
Manage publication reporting to Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations
Process internal research grants faculty assessment
Administer the Faculty Research Committee
Maintain and update the R&PGS webpage
