Honours Students

Honours courses within the Faculty of Engineering, Health, Science and the Environment provide students with their first opportunity to carry out in-depth research into a topic of their choice.

It is a challenging and exciting year that allows students to develop the advanced analytical and research skills necessary for future careers in research, government and industry.

Honours courses available within the Faculty of Engineering, Health, Science and the Environment are:

School of Environmental and Life Sciences

Bachelor of Science (Honours)

This course gives students the opportunity to gain experience and training in research techniques and principles while doing a detailed study investigating a particular issue or topic in their chosen discipline.

The research project can be done in a wide range of fields, including biology (e.g. aquaculture, biochemistry, botany, ecology, marine biology, molecular biology, zoology); biomedical science, nursing, pharmacy and other allied health areas; sports science; GIS and remote sensing; and information technology.

This course can be done off-campus in external mode. Many projects are available and some have scholarships.
