The overall aim of the Project Grants Program is to support research activity by encouraging
Subsequent applications for external funding
Publication of research outcomes
Accordingly, all applications must identify either or both of the above as outcomes of the proposed research in order to be considered. Encouragement is given to research involving studies consistent with University priorities. Support may be given to research overseas, taking into account the University’s geographical areas of research foci. Project grants are available to individuals or groups of researchers for specific projects.
Support under this Program is contingent upon:
Successful achievement of specified outcomes in any previous Research Panel grants held by the applicant(s)
Satisfactory completion of reporting requirements on funding received previously from CDU Research Panel Programs (e.g. CDU Research office small grants and Faculty of EHSE UTROP projects)
The Early Career weighting is open to researchers submitting applications where the primary CDU-based Chief Investigators completed their research qualifications (preferably a PhD) less than five years ago. Early career applicants should indicate this on the space provided on the form. If the applicant has moved to CDU during these 5 years, the record from their previous institution(s) will be taken into account. Applications must clearly demonstrate the role of the early career group member(s) in the project.
The New Staff Member weighting is open to researchers submitting applications where the primary CDU-based Chief Investigators joined the University less than four years ago. New Staff applicants should indicate this on the space provided on the form.
Applications must clearly demonstrate the role of the newly appointed Chief Investigators in the project
Applicants can only receive weighting for being a New Staff Member or an early career researcher, i.e. applicants can only receive weighting for one of the categories
