Technical Services has input into all areas of SELS (and some EHS) where scientific and/or technically-related activities are conducted. This includes all teaching laboratories, as well as nursing laboratories, technical stores, and special facilities such as animal facilities, radiation stores, AQIS facilities and waste management areas. There is also provision of technical knowledge to faculty and university workplace advisory groups in OH&S and Assets Management.
Additionally, Technical Services manages research laboratories and office accommodation for SELS staff and postgraduate students. Keys and building access issues are usually managed by the key custodian in the building in which you reside.
Technical Services are committed to supporting and being involved in community engagement activities such as school visits, the Siemens Science Experience and CSIRO Science Week.
