Travel Grants

External HDR Student/Supervisor Travel Grant

This Grant is to support travel by the Faculty of Engineering, Health, Science and the Environment (EHSE) Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students and supervisors. 

The grant is mainly intended to support travel to CDU by external HDR students to consult with their supervisors, and for external supervisors to travel to CDU to consult with their HDR students.

Individual grants are limited to a maximum of $1,500. 
This grant can be applied for at any time during the year and applications will be considered by the Associate Dean, EHSE.

When submitting an application form, please ensure that you submit an approved movement request.

Students can apply for a second grant in a calendar year, but that application will go before the EHSE Research and Research Training Committee for consideration.

Conference Travel Grant

The purpose of the Conference Travel Grant (CTG) is to provide financial assistance to research candidates to attend a conference and present their work during the course of their candidature. Essential features of the CTG are:

  • A grant of up to $1,000 for travel and registration fees (not accommodation).
  • Candidates must have had acceptance of a paper or poster presentation for delivery at a conference. If acceptance has not yet been received, evidence will need to be provided with the Movement Request.

Eligibility

The CTG is open to Masters by Research and Doctor of Philosophy students who satisfy the following criteria:

  • Acceptance of a paper or poster presentation for delivery at a conference. If acceptance has not yet been received, documentation will need to be provided with the Movement Request.
  • Those applicants who have been invited to deliver a paper will receive priority;
  • Be enrolled and have completed at least one (1) year of their candidature;
  • The student must have successfully completed their Confirmation of Candidature;
  • Candidates must be enrolled in the respective course at the time of the conference;
  • In the case of joint papers, only one grant will be provided;
  • Tenured University staff are not eligible to apply;
  • Candidates are only eligible for one CTG during the course of their candidature.

Students intending to apply must be in compliance with their reporting requirements and have also completed all milestones compatible with the duration of candidature.
