The ties between Charles Darwin University and Japan have deepened with a recent visit to Casuarina campus by the Japanese Ambassador to Australia.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Australia, His Excellency Mr Sumio Kusaka and his wife Mrs Ikuko Kusaka recently met with senior staff and toured the North Australian Centre for Oil and Gas (NACOG).

Provost and Vice-President Professor Sue Carthew welcomed Mr Kusaka and discussed some of the research links CDU has with Japan, while showcasing the world-class equipment and facilities at NACOG.

The couple was visiting Darwin to help commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin earlier this year.
