A week-long academic writing workshop for graduate and post-graduate students held at the Northern Institute has been a resounding success.

From more than 400 applications, a group of 18 participants was selected, comprising post-graduate students and early career researchers from CDU and the Australian National University.

Participants worked intensively on a chosen thesis chapter, journal article, or paper during the workshop, which also included specialist lectures on writing and communication, one-on-one consultations and group feedback sessions.

The workshop was funded under a Northern Research Futures Collaborative Research Network grant and was led by CRN Research Leader Professor Linda Rosenman, supported by special projects writer with the Office for Media, Advancement and Community Engagement, Jane Hampson.

With dedicated writing time and the support from Northern Institute staff, workshop participants had a productive week. Their final feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with some rating it as the best week of their candidature.
