CDU and the Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) are working together to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation.
UMS is one of CDU’s valued institutional partners and shares common interests in research collaboration and research training, staff exchange, joint delivery of degrees, and student exchange.
The universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding in November 2009 to promote their common interests in education and research.
.
CDU is hosting six senior academic staff members from the Economics Faculty at UMS who are participating in a 20-week program that includes intensive English language training and working with staff of the School of Law and Business to audit the CDU Bachelor of Commerce course.
UMS staff hope to continue to develop an international undergraduate twinning program in which fourth year economics students from UMS finalise their degrees as part of the Bachelor of Commerce at CDU.
They are also giving seminars and guest lectures in selected areas of study while at CDU.
