Wrapped in awards, Holly Crighton is enjoying her big wins at the Darwin-based Fred’s Pass Rural Show.
Holly joined other students from Charles Darwin University's Katherine Rural campus to make the 600 km round trip to showcase their skills.
The team returned from the event with more than 10 awards.
The CDU rural operations’ student won best champion bull over two years and was awarded third place for the Senior Northern Territory Young Achievers award.
Nineteen-year-old Corrina Clark was another higher achiever, taking out the best champion cow and female champion at the annual event.
She is from the remote community of Oombulgurri in the East Kimberly region of Western Australia and has spent the past four months living on site at the rural campus. She is completing her Certificate II in Rural Operations.
Their lecturer Doug Jenkins said the students impressed judges with their professionalism.
"Corrina in particular was shy at first but she stood out there proud and deserved the award," he said. "She, like the others got a real confidence boost and I am very proud of their results,” he said.
