Work placements

Work experience in your area of expertise/stream is incredibly important for setting you up for success in later years whether it's getting a job or doing well at your job.

Industry experts want students with practical experience.

They want all rounders; students who have done reasonably well academically but also able to integrate well into a workplace.

It is therefore vitally important that you find meaningful work experience prior to graduating from University.

If you are in the Bachelor of Engineering (Co-op) program you will have the opportunity to complete up to six months of paid vacation work in your 3rd year of study. Mainstream Bachelor of Engineering as well as Master of Engineering and Master of IT (Software Engineering) students are expected to complete at least 12 weeks of study.

See the below list of Industry that CDU-Engineering is currently affiliated with; use this as a starting point for work experience/job hunting. Remember that when contacting these companies - if there isn't a way of submitting an online work application, speak to HR, enquire about vacation work, and how you could submit an expression of interest. Be polite and courteous.
