Associate Degree of Network Engineering

The Associate Degree of Network Engineering prepares students to become job-ready network engineering specialists. Importantly, graduates of this award will have the skills and knowledge to design, commission and maintain networks that play a crucial role in the infrastructure of industry and government organisations. This Associate Degree provides the general background necessary for graduates to find careers in the network engineering field. Alternatively, graduates may elect to continue their study to become an IT professional. The network engineering course was developed in consultation with industry representatives and aligned with industry requirements. Study opportunities are also provided to assist students to undertake sought-after industry training modules, including Cisco and Microsoft certifications.

Program structure

The core of this program prepares students with the necessary IT skills so that they are well prepared for work when graduated. The program stresses both the importance of theory and the application of theory in practice through projects and practical exercises.

This course is available externally by distance learning for those who are not able to attend classes on campus on a regular basis. Distance learning requires reliable broadband internet access.
