Teaching

Teaching focuses on mathematics for engineering, information technology and education students. I also supervise honours and research students in various topics in mathematics.

Winner of Excellence in Teaching Award, 2001

The Committee for Rewarding and Encouraging Academic Teaching Excellence awarded me the excellence in teaching award in 2001. The Committee was impressed by:

• ability for curriculum design within your subject area;
• capacity to effectively motivate and support a diverse student group to reach their highest possible level within mathematics relevant to their future aims and goals; and
• the scholarly, professional application of research in the subject area and the subject pedagogy to continually inform and improve your teaching.
