On the surface, Israel appears as a strong and united country, but the reality is rather different. Israeli society is deeply divided, torn by political, ethnic, cultural and religious conflicts and tensions. Dr Rosenthal's lecture will focus on how these divisions developed in the course of Israel's short history as a modern state, and how they shape life in Israel today.
