Information Governance
Information Governance is the way by which Charles Darwin University manages corporate information – in particular personal and sensitive information. It allows both organisations and individuals to ensure the information we hold is dealt with legally, securely, confidentially, efficiently and effectively, in order to deliver the best possible service.
It provides a framework to bring together all the requirements, standards and best practice that apply to the handling of our Corporate and personal information, thus allowing:
-
Compliance with the law; and
-
Year on year improvement plans.
The focus is on setting standards and giving University Cost Centres the tools to achieve these standards. The goal is to help ensure the University and its staff handle information in a consistent manner to avoid duplication of effort.
The framework includes a number of information-handling requirements:
- Information Act
- Internet Web Site Standards and Guidelines (.pdf, 651KB)
- Privacy Guidelines for CDU Web Sites (.pdf, 60KB)
- CDU Records Management Guidelines
- CDU Knowledge Management Framework
- CDU Information Security Management Framework
- CDU Recordkeeping Metadata Standard.
