New Zealand Citizens
New Zealand citizens, who are offered a Commonwealth supported place, will be provided with a Student Learning Entitlement (SLE) so that they can access this place. SLE provides access to a Commonwealth supported place for seven years equivalent full-time study.
New Zealand citizens who commenced a course as of 1 January 2005 will not be entitled to a HECS-HELP loan. This means that New Zealand citizens in a Commonwealth supported place must pay their student contribution up front. New Zealand citizens will not be eligible for a discount when they pay their student contribution up front.
Detailed information for continuing students and students commencing a course after 1 January 2005 is available at the Going to uni website.
