7. Electrical equipment

All electrical and electronic appliances and equipment must be tested, approved, and tagged by the licensed electrician before use. In addition all portable appliances must be tested every 12 months. Authorised personnel must carry out repairs, alteration, and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment. When in doubt consult the laboratory manager.

Ensure that electrical cables are kept off floors where possible to minimise hazards and to assist the cleaners. Faulty equipment or switches should be reported to your supervisor or the laboratory manager.

All electrical equipment must be purchased with appropriate circuit diagrams and service manuals.
