Ms Wendy Ludwig

Ms Wendy Ludwig is a Kungarakany/Gurindji woman from Darwin, Northern Territory. Ms Ludwig is the Director of Operations Indigenous Leadership.

Wendy has extensive experience teaching and managing in academic and government contexts in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education, Training and Employment across Northern Australia and nationally.

Wendy was one of the founding members that designed and taught in the Aboriginal VET programs offered by Darwin Community College (DCC) from 1980 – 1985.  When Darwin Institute of Technology replaced DCC Wendy joined the Education Faculty and established the Aboriginal Student’s Support Unit in 1985 to support the large numbers of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in the Teacher Education program. 

From 1987 to 1989 Wendy returned to teach in the newly established Centre for Aboriginal and Islander Studies in the Northern Territory University, the replacement for the Institute of Technology and predecessor of Charles Darwin University. Wendy was part of the team that developed the design and delivery of innovative VET programs; the management of funding and the provision of government services into the home communities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and clients in Queensland from the 1990s to mid-2000.

Wendy has a strong interest in and commitment to policy, practice and service provision that is designed and driven by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This has been the central focus of her work in education, training and community development throughout the last thirty five years.
