Indonesian language electives at CDU
Indonesian language has now been deemed a "language at risk" in Australia. Over the last 10 years there has been a dramatic collapse in the number of secondary and tertiary institutions offering Indonesian language and in the number of students taking Indonesian language in those remaining institutions.
In order to try and encourage increased enrolments in Bahasa Indonesia at CDU Dr Curtis has prepared a flyer outlining Indonesian language electives available at the University.

The focus of the Indonesia Reference Group is to share information amongst active and interested members of the CDU community and beyond about collaborative activities that have been undertaken, are in the process of being undertaken or under development.
It is anticipated that the circulation of this information will assist in the coordination of a university wide approach to activities in Indonesia and act as a catalyst for generating more opportunities for collaborative engagement.
Membership of the Group comprises senior academic and administrative members of the University's governance hierarchy; active researchers; facilitators and managers of important stakeholder relationships and representatives of the Northern Territory Government.
The Group meets four times a year and is Chaired by Professor Bob Wasson, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Research and International. Secretariat support is provided by Sally Hodgetts, Manager, International Projects and Operations, International Office.
For more information about the Group or to receive a copy of the latest meeting minutes please contact Sally at

Information about new initiatives with regards to research and collaboration along with suggestions for consideration and review by the Group are sought and should be forwarded to Sally.
The Inaugural Charles Darwin University China Engagement Event provided a forum through which CDU academic staff could showcase joint projects and research collaboration with Chinese partners; while current Chinese students were able to present a window to the myriad of cross cultural challenges experienced and benefits gained while studying at CDU and residing in Darwin.
