How to Withdraw
It is a condition of student visas that international students must be enrolled in full-time study loads, which means four units per semester in higher education and 360 hours per semester in vocational education and training (VET). In exceptional circumstances, international students are permitted to study 75 per cent of the full-time study load, but must have support from the relevant course coordinator to do this.
A withdrawal from a unit can only be granted when:
- It is being replaced by another unit, or
- The application is supported by medical certification, or
- The course coordinator has approved withdrawal in the best interests of the student's progress, and
- The student still maintains 75 per cent of full time load, and
- The unit is not a prerequisite for a unit in the next semester or is a core unit or a unit of competency in a VET course that cannot be substituted.
How to apply
- Pick up an Application to Withdraw form from the Information Centre
- Make sure your course coordinator signs and approves it
- Return the form to the Information Centre for processing.
