Exotic environment
The main campus of Charles Darwin University is located in Darwin, a tropical capital city with regional advantages. It offers an environment of endless sunshine, exotic flora and fauna, dramatic landscapes of the tropics and the desert and first hand experience of an ancient and rich Aboriginal culture. At CDU, we live and breathe desert and tropical systems, indigenous cultures, social and environmental challenges everyday. Our research and teaching strengths take advantage of our unique geographic and demographic features.
Migration
The Northern Territory Government will sponsor under the Skilled Independent Regional (SIR) visa (sub class 495) international students who complete eligible studies at CDU. Sponsorship by the NT government provides an additional 10 bonus points, in addition to the five bonus points for study at a regional university. Employment opportunities
There are good part time employment opportunities for international students, mainly in retail and hospitality sector. International students on student visas are permitted to work part time for a maximum of 20 hours per week. There are abundant full time employment opportunities in the Northern Territory for graduates of CDU.
