Study Abroad and Exchange Program
Study Abroad is an academic program for students who seek to complete one or two semesters of study at a different University. Students need to apply to their home University for credit transfer for studies undertaken at a host University. Students are able to apply to any University in the world. The student pays fees to their host University and does not remain enrolled at CDU.
The Exchange program differs from Study Abroad in that a student may only apply to study at one of CDU's partner institutions. During the exchange, the student stays enrolled and pays fees at CDU instead of to the visiting institution. This allows students the option of choosing the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) to cover their fees. The student may continue to receive any government study allowances (Austudy or Youth Allowance) or payments that they would normally be entitled to. CDU has $5000 DEEWR exchange scholarships, both for incoming and CDU outgoing exchange students.
The International Office at Charles Darwin University processes applications for incoming and outgoing exchange students and incoming study abroad students. Please select which program you would like more information on:
- Incoming Study Abroad & Exchange (Students wanting to study at CDU for 1 or 2 semesters)
- Outoing Exchange (CDU students wanting to study at a partner institution overseas)
