Faculty of Law, Business and Arts

Dean's welcome

A very warm welcome to the vibrant and creative community comprising Law, Business and Arts at Charles Darwin University.

In a global economy and information world of the 21st century this is the place to be if you want to be fully creative and learn how to benefit from that creativity by undertaking study that will change you and thereby change your world.

Just a few of the accredited professional programs we offer include: accounting, anthropology, archaeology, arts, business, communications, cultural studies, economics, fashion, fine arts, graphic design, history, hospitality, Indigenous studies, law, marketing, management, music, multi-media, politics, tourism, and much more.

Better still, as a comprehensive university, we take you from wherever you are: adult student returning to education having not completed year 12, school leaver from year 12, starting an apprenticeship, and so on. And, we will help you get to wherever you want to go: from certificate I through to diploma’s and advanced diploma’s, bachelor’s, master’s and the PhD (Australian Qualifications Framework).

For international students and the many Australian students coming to CDU from outside of Darwin, our student-focused services include excellent student accommodation on our main campus, features such as 24 hour high speed internet access, a range of excellent facilities including a swimming pool, plus you are two minutes walk from the library and most teaching facilities. And after class, you are a short walk away from one of Darwin's nicest beaches.

Our staff are highly qualified. Most have top professional experience and outstanding qualifications. With small class sizes, state-of-the art facilities and many opportunities for employment or work-based experience, you will find in Charles Darwin University a creative community where learning is our core business and the focus is on our students.

Finally, while we have many campuses and a strong mission to serve the entire Northern Territory, our main campus in Darwin is located at one of Australia's most beautiful capital coastal cities. The cosmopolitan mix of our population and our art, culture and music are as welcoming and beautiful as our famous beaches and sunsets. And, if a walk along the beach is too serene for you, the adventure 'outback' tourism of Kakadu National Park awaits you just an hour's drive away.

So, please join our 'Learning Community' and working together, let's make a difference and change our world.
